Plan your Andaman holiday with local experts based in Port Blair
The Andaman Islands are unlike anything else India has to offer. Quiet beaches, living coral reefs, clear warm waters and an island pace of life that slows everything down. Whether you are planning your first visit or coming back for more, this page covers the key places worth your time across the archipelago.

Port Blair, officially Sri Vijaya Puram, is where every Andaman trip begins. The Cellular Jail alone is worth the visit. Add Ross Island, North Bay and the Samudrika museum and you have two full days without trying.
Havelock is the island most travelers come to Andaman for. Radhanagar Beach has been ranked among Asia's best beaches for good reason. Elephant Beach adds snorkeling and water sports to the mix. Two nights here is the minimum.
Neil is small enough to cycle across in an afternoon. It is slower and quieter than Havelock, which is exactly why some travelers prefer it. One night here between Havelock and the return ferry to Port Blair is a common and sensible itinerary choice.
Baratang is a full-day commitment from Port Blair and one of the most unusual excursions in the Andamans. The journey matters as much as the destination here: convoy through the tribal reserve, speedboat through narrow mangrove channels, then the limestone caves at the end of it all.
Beyond Port Blair, Havelock and Neil - the less-visited islands worth planning for
Diglipur is the main town in North Andaman and the base for Ross and Smith Island, Saddle Peak and the turtle nesting beaches at Kalipur. It is a long journey from Port Blair but worth it for travelers who want to see the Andamans beyond the tourist trail.
Rangat is the main stop in Middle Andaman and a transit point for travelers heading north. The Dhani Nallah mangrove walkway is one of the better nature experiences available in the Andamans for those willing to go slightly off the beaten track.
South Andaman has more to offer beyond Port Blair. Chidiya Tapu at the southern tip is the best sunset point on the island. Wandoor and Jolly Buoy are worth a half day each, and Cinque Island is one of the most pristine spots in the entire archipelago.
Long Island sits between Rangat and the northern islands and sees far fewer visitors than Port Blair or Havelock. Lalaji Bay Beach requires a short jungle trek to reach and that is precisely what keeps it in the condition it is in. A good overnight stop for travelers going north.
Little Andaman is about 120 km south of Port Blair and a world apart from the main tourist circuit. The ferry takes around 6 to 8 hours each way, which filters out most visitors and keeps the island in a condition that is increasingly rare in Indian tourism. Waterfalls that empty into the sea, a long surf beach, a lighthouse at the southern tip and almost no crowds at any time of year. It is not a convenient destination but it is a remarkable one for travelers who plan ahead and go in knowing what to expect.
